No Knead Bread

1. I’ve been trying some new green cleaner recipes. The only commercial cleaning products I have had to buy in the last few months are oxy-action bleach and dishwashing liquid. I wish I’d made the change sooner.
2. Our two camellia bushes are blooming. They were planted many, many years ago and have somehow survived intense droughts and years of neglect. Their blooms bring so much joy to grey winter days.
3. Sweet Poppy napping.
4. Our girls are laying again! They had a really tough first moult and were off the lay for quite some time. It’s so lovely to have homegrown eggs once more.
5. I’ve been spending a lot of time cooking good, nourishing food in the last couple of weeks. I don’t often follow recipes but I love beautiful cook books for inspiration when my motivation in the kitchen runs dry.
6. Strawberries, cream cheese and a drizzle of honey on toast, with a big mug of cinnamon tea. The perfect way to start a day.
7. We’ve been painting our living room. Clover and Daisy have been helping by getting in the way and brushing up against the wet paint on the walls. They’re so cute, it’s impossible to stay mad at them.
8. No knead bread. Yes!

My heart melts every time I read about your dogs, especially the Clover, the lucky pup that found a home with you. The world would be a better places if humans had the hearts of dogs. xx

Aw, thank you Nadia. We love them so much! Daisy is actually a very lucky dog too. You can read her rescue story here. :)

That bread looks amazing! I’ve tried to make no-knead breads before but they usually come out far too hard and crusty – did you follow a recipe for this one?

Thanks Eleanor! I use this recipe. Though, I’ve recently bought the book “Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day” so keen to start experimenting more! xx

The prepping before the painting is the worst! We’re getting there… Just need to finish off all the trims, doors and windows now. Good luck with your painting! :)

I love your pictures that truly represent the important things in our lives. I am getting into paint mode as well! Hope to be finished by spring. Went second shopping yesterday our local Vinnies had clothes for $1.00 and linen half price! Best $20.00 I have spent in a long time

I can feel summer turning here, and while that reminder of time passing always tugs at me, this post reminds me of how much I love to hunker down and settle into the comforts of the indoor seasons. Now I want to clean and cook and paint! (We intended to paint our living room this summer, but it’s just been too hot to even think about it.) Your photos are lovely as always.

This post popped into my inbox during the week and I’ve now finally sat down with a cuppa to have a good read. Your photos bring so much sunshine to the cold winter. You make me look forward to Spring and the possibilities that generous sun, longer days and loving hard work will bring….thank you xxx

I’m a pretty new reader to your blog and I’m loving it! I use vinegar with water as my main cleaning product. I bust out the bi carb for the heavy duty things and lemon to clean the oven. Not only does it get things clean its cheap and my flat smells lovely after.
