Poppy and Lemons

Semi Dried Tomatoes and Sebby

Dogs and Tomatoes and Basil

Tea and Clover

Daisy and Home

Iced Coffee and Poppy

Clover and Dear Delilah Necklace

We have been hot. Very hot. We’ve had a string of days well over 40°C and it’s been pretty horrible in our old, uninsulated house, so we have spent a lot of time hibernating in our lounge room (which is the only room in our house with an airconditioner) and dreaming of autumn.

We have been eating homegrown cherry tomatoes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We have been thinking we need to plant a lemon tree.

We have been grateful that our little family has adjusted so well to our latest addition and have been so pleased to see Daisy and Clover quickly become great friends.

We have been watching Indiana Jones movies and series one and two of Call the Midwife. (Is there anything better than a BBC period drama?!)

We have been living on homemade pesto, feta, semi dried tomatoes and lemon cordial.

We have gotten a few little jobs done around the house. We finally got the old fluorescent lights in the lounge room replaced with nice pendants and we finished painting the hall. Now we are just wishing for some cooler weather so we can start painting the loungeroom!

We have been talking a lot about our big trip later this year. (So exciting!)

We have been hoping for rain…

What’s been happening in your world lately?

I don’t much like summer weather but I adore summer food! Pesto and semi dried tomatoes make the heat so much more bearable! 🙂

Thanks for sharing the lovely photos . . . we’ve been battling the heat too – visits to our local (cold water) pool have been fabulous!! We’ve had a bit of a glut of roma tomatoes so we’ve been making basic pasta sauce and freezing it . . . might use some tonight for a very easy tea! REALLY looking forward to a cooler day tomorrow!

I made semi dried tomatoes with our glut! They are so ridiculously good I could almost live on them alone! Trips to pool sound perfect. Stay cool! xx

    Those puppies are too much!!

I too have been dying in this heat. It’s hard to imagine the other side of the world experiencing the extreme opposite right now.

Was reading ‘Brisbane’s Child’ today – and there, inside front cover, is one of your necklaces and the address of your etsy shop! Recognised it straight away. Means it’s probably in ‘Melbourne’s Child’, ‘Sydney’s Child’ etc. Hope you see an increase in traffic this month.
    Best wishes

Hope the worst of the heat is over for you, lucky you have at least one room with aircon.
Would love to see some pics of the reno activity, some paint sure makes a difference to an area, and replacing old flouros with something else is always an improvement.
My son makes a delicious Basil pesto (Basil, pinenuts, garlic and parmassen and olive oil) that is awesome with pasta, so quick and easy and fresh….yuuuum,
I have some cherry tomato bushes producing too, so will have to give the semi dried tomatoes a go, sounds good.
