Daisy and Victorian Dresses

Poppy and Strawberry Basil Frappe

Love From Marley and Daisy

Penguin Classics and Yarn

We’ve been drinking strawberry and basil frappes made with strawberries and basil cordial from the farmers market. (So good!)

We have recieved some gorgeous housewarming gifts. We feel so lucky to have such beautiful, generous friends.

Katie has rediscovered Instagram.

Reuben has been reading Charles Darwin’s The Origin of Species.

We have been thrilled to have some cooler weather. (This weekend has actually felt like autumn!)

We’ve been eating many homemade muffins. Still.

We have been a bit stressed about the fact our hot water system, oven and gas heater all need replacing. (Oh dear…)

Reuben has been really excited about mowing our itty bitty lawn. It’s so nice to have a tiny piece of land that is all our own.

Katie has attended an amazing local exhibit of Victorian and Edwardian dresses.

We have been juicing lots. (Carrot, apple and cucumber seems to be the flavour of the moment!)

We’ve started our compost heap in preparation for the veggie patch we intend to build in spring.

We have spent a lovely day in Echuca, visiting antique stores and discovering the adorable Much Love Marley shop.

We have finally begun putting some long-held ideas and plans into motion.

What’s been going on in your world lately?! We’d love to hear what’s happening with you!

Looks like a lovely time you two have been having! I’m just in the middle of preparing for my trip to Japan next week, getting the house in order and writing lots of blog posts :)
    So excited for a holiday!

They were! The exhibition was much, much larger than you can see there and it all belonged to a local collector. It was amazing! :)

There’s some lovely goodness there in all your pictures! I’ve just followed you on instagram, always looking for new inspirational pictures to brighten up odd moments of my day. Although boo to having to replace all those big items so soon after moving in.

I’ve had a bad back all week, so it’s been pretty quiet around here, although DH and I just got my new baby passionfruit vine planted and a couple of cheap garden arches put in for it to climb all over… here’s to mountains of passionfruit in fresh gelati and glistening in pools all over my homemade pavlova next summer. I hope.

I’m so sorry to hear your back has been playing up but YAY for your new passionfruit!! Passionfruit on homemade pavlova is one of my favourite things in the universe! Enjoy :)

Hi Katie & Reuben – I stumbled across your blog googling DIY sanding floors and am loving your updates. They’re like a colourful little break from a sometimes grey existence (while I am at work anyway). I’m waiting on finance to be approved on a 1950′s cottage in Western Australia – should be any day now which will need renovating and breathing fresh life back into (on the cheap). Anyway, keep up the inspiration. I might have to start my own blog, we can compare renovation notes! xo

Hi Kellie! So happy to hear you have been enjoying our blog. And how exciting about your own little cottage! We’re keeping our fingers crossed that your finance gets approved. And you totally should start a blog! x

Dear Katie & Reuben, I LOVE your new home, so sorry you have to have some expensive things replaced, I hope you have a microwave, it will be very useful until you upgrade ! I will buy a lottery ticket & if I win something big I will be over to give you a cheque, keep your fingers crossed, remember, everything is worth waiting for :)
I have just purchased some candles, 20% off is very good, thank you for letting us know about Moon Shadow Creations xx

You are so sweet Ali! Thankfully my mum had a little benchtop oven that we could borrow and the airconditioner in our loungeroom does have a reverse cycle setting, so if it gets freezing cold and we are absolutely desperate we can use that (though we’ll try not to as it will use up much electricity!) The hot water system is the most urgent thing. So happy to hear you used to 20% off discount. You’ll love your candles – they are beautiful! xx
