Thank you so much for all your lovely birthday wishes on my last post, as well as via Twitter and Instagram! I had such a wonderful weekend. I couldn’t really have wished for anything more.
On Saturday Reubs and I slept in very late then made a feast of pancakes for breakfast. In the afternoon we took Daisy to Crusoe Heights Reserve, which is an off-leash dog park we hadn’t been to before. Daisy had the time of her life! It’s such a great spot for puppas. The park is huge, there are bush trails and dams, and it is so peaceful you’d never realise you were right in town. We even saw a kangaroo! On Saturday night we had dinner with my mum and her friend John. The restaurant was disappointing but the company was great, and really that is all that matters. We had cake at home afterwards, complete with candles and embarrassing “Happy Birthday” singing.
On Saturday we spent the day in Daylesford with friends. We visited the markets, had brunch at Breakfast and Beer and wandered about the antique stalls at the Mill Markets. It was perfect.
Of course I was very spoiled. I received the pictured fawn lamp and tiny pug figurine, among many other wonderful things. (I had been dreaming of owning that lamp for the longest time!) I also received no less that three birthday cakes and one birthday pie! I feel so lucky to have such beautiful friends and family in my life. So very lucky.
I hope your weekend was as perfectly peachy as mine, and that this week is good to you. Thanks again for all your kind thoughts. I’ll eat some birthday cake for you!

that tiny dog!!! oh my!
Oh I LOVE that lamp…I have seen it before and thought it would be lovely to own. Is it as adorable in real life as it looks online?
It sounds as though you had a wonderful birthday, and have a lot of cake to get through!
You really shouldn’t go to the trouble of eating cake for your readers
xoxo
Yes, the deer lamp is just as lovely in real life! I had wanted one for a very long time but could never justify the expense buying one for myself (as they aren’t cheap) so I was thrilled when Reubs gave it to me on Sunday morning. I love it and know it will be a part of our home for a very, very long time so I consider it an investment piece
And we are still eating cake! We sent one cake home with my mum and finished up the last of the cheesecake today but there is still pie and red velvet cake left!
oh, yum! Cheesecake is my fav, and red velvet just sounds so delicious! Enjoy xo
Beautiful Katie…love the little dog!
