Mexican food.
Seeing Flight of the Conchords live in Melbourne. (So amazing!)
Chocolate gingerbread scented candles.
Visiting the Christmas in July night market at Maldon.
Warm gem scones, fresh from the oven. (Have you ever had a gem scone?! They are glorious!)
Morello cherry jam.
Watching As Time Goes By. (Yep, still obsessed.)
Being woken up by a purring, cuddly kitty.
Being welcomed home by a happy, wiggly puppa!
Clear starry nights.
What’s making you smile right now? We’d like to know!

I used to LOVE watching as time goes by… might have to watch some again now!! xx
Are gem scones like miniature (aka potato gem sized) scone bites? I keep hearing about them everywhere lately and never seen/tried!
They are more like really little round plain cakes that you eat with butter and jam, like you would with a scone. You have to use a gem scone iron to make them (that’s a special tray with itty bitty round holes for the scones) and you don’t see them often these days. We got our gem scone iron from an antique store in Maldon. I will have to write a gem scone post!
We saw Flight of the Conchords in Newcastle last Tuesday, it was quite possibly the best thing I have ever seen. I really want to see them again, I am still laughing at “back on the road”. What is making me smile right now, listening to my 23 month old daughter sing “Hounds of Love”. Randomly throughout the day I hear “hiding in the dark, hiding in the dark”, makes me laugh.
Those boys are just hilarious! Reubs and I have watched their TV series about 50 million times and I had been hoping to see them live for the longest time. I’m so glad we managed to get tickets! Oh and your daughter sounds adorable
Hello! I’m loving warmer days, hot water bottle nights, and farm fresh kale in the markets!

a man in the kitchen (my man, not just any man
) making salmon for dinner and a dog that acts like I have been away for a month, when I only was out of the house for 3 hours, is whats making me smile right now
Daisy does that too! She always makes me feel so loved when I get home. And what a good man you have!
Your kitties are adorable!!

As Time Goes By holds a very special place in my heart…my husband bought me the complete 9 season series for Christmas 2008…we spent every evening until New Years watching and laughing…Christmas 2009 I was diagnosed with breast cancer…again we watched through the New Year and many times during treatments when “normal” was what we craved…treatments are finished and I am happy to say I’m a survivor! These shows remind me that I am very loved by my husband and very happy to be alive!!
Wow, Lisa that is such a beautiful story! Thank you so much for sharing. And I am so glad to hear you are well now! May the future hold many, many wonderful years for you and your husband x
Jealous of the Flight of the Conchords! And such cute animal pictures. Especially the first kitty one. <3
Haha, I laughed at that picture of Poppy for about 10 minutes after I took it. She is such a cute little weirdo!
Oooh, Chocolate gingerbread candles sound yummy!
Warm cinnamon fruit buns and tea are making me smile right now….

I love Mexican food! Now I’m craving it… I know I’ve got black beans and an avocado somewhere… yummm. All your pictures are adorable! Especially that cat in the mug of warm liquid love
What is making me smile? Let’s see… My cat deciding her new favorite place to sleep is my yarn bag, the sunny weather we had today after so much rain, Ramadan almost being here, and perfume oils with amber and patchouli!
Ooooh! No, I haven’t had gem scones. They sound delicious.
1. A gift from a special friend discovered on the doorstep this morning.
2. Being able to walk again after a week-long back attack.
3. The pot of tea and date scones I just shared with my beautiful friend Loz.
4. Giant rum balls with sparklers setting off the office smoke detector.
5. An email from a lovely lady who enjoyed my newspaper column.
6. Watching my pooch roll in kangaroo poo yesterday (such bliss!).
7. Woody Allen’s “Midnight in Paris” for the sixth time (gets better every time).
8. Listening to “By the Horns” on repeat – Julia Stone’s newie.
9. Riding the exercise bike late at night while watching the Tour de France.
10. Not being a refugee. (Did anyone watch Australian Story?)
The memory of last night’s sunset scooter ride and taking photos of an open field in that gorgeous light.
hey what filters do you use on on your photos?…i love the warm dreamy/slightly vintage look they have. im a bit of a filter hopper (i just made that up haha but i mean i switch filters all the time) so i often miss the value of a collection of photos that all have similar colouring…but i love the look
look forward to the gem scone post
I pretty much only use Instagram for my iPhone photos and my favourite filters are Walden, Nashville and Amaro
aaaaah! you saw Flight of the Conchordes!! i am so jealous! (in a good way))) That’s so great you got to see them! It’s one of teh things both of us really want to do at some point
and the bunny coffee is adorable! Thanks for the idea!
I love this. So cute! I love Flight of the Conchords!
so lovely!
I too am obsessed with As Time Goes By, loved Lionel from Butterflies many, many, many, many moons ago! I live in Launceston which is about the same size as Bendigo and think I have the best of both worlds, urban rural, if there is such a thing!! If I had my ultimate choice I would prob live in St Arnaud, which is where my mum grew up. I just love it, went on a road trip last year and made a beeline there, wish it was still like it was when I was little tho!
