Yep, it’s a cliche, but like many common phrases, “the best things in life are free” has been said a lot because it’s true! This morning we stumbled across this lovely list of things that make you feel good for free, which inspired us to write our own. Here are few of our most favourite little pleasures, none of which cost a cent.
Crawling into bed when the linen has just been changed.
Sipping hot coffee on a frosty morning.
The smell of clean laundry.
Bundles of flowers, fresh from the garden.
Warm showers when the weather is cold.
Diving into a pool when the weather is hot.
Being greeted by a happy, wiggly dog after a long day at work.
When a recipe turns out perfectly.
Waking up early on a Sunday, then realising it’s ok to go back to sleep.
Snuggling under a blanket with a book and a cup of tea.
Eating icecream and walking along the beach.
The smell of hot bread.
Unexpected compliments and random acts of kindness.
Time with family.
When the storm that’s been building all day finally breaks and the humidity clears.
Receiving hand written mail.
Turning on the radio and hearing one of your favourite songs.
Laughing at embarrassing old photos.
Cuddles with kitties.
The feeling of accomplishment when you finish a big project.
Baskets of colourful knitting yarn.
The sound of rain on a tin roof (and the smell too).
Rambling conversations with old friends.
What free things fill your heart with happy? We’d really love if you’d share your list in the comments section!
