Reclaim: Paper Bags

The Reclaim series is all about turning discarded old things into beautiful new things. It’s about making treasure from trash, reducing our waste and saving a little money along the way. Each episode features an everyday object and a variety of inspiring ways that object can be reclaimed.

Today, we are talking about paper bags!

i also love to use paper bags as recycled wrapping paper. seasonal bags from certain stores are really pretty without any help, or if it’s just a brand name on the outside, i’ll decorate the blank inside and wrap my presents that way!

That is such a good idea! I would love to recieve one of your beautifully wrapped gifts! So much more special (and better for the environment) than store-bought wrapping :)

i’ve started using brown paper to wrap around pot plants – i have lots of indoor plants, and rather than buy expensive pots for them, i just wrapped the plastic ones they came in in brown paper and string! its been a few months now, and the paper still looks like new, it’s held up really well!

    These are sweet.
Here in the West of Canada we like to send folded over paper bags with a tealight in them out into the ocean as lanterns (yes… I know… it’s not terribly environmentally friendly) but it sure looks pretty in the dark with the little lights floating on the sea.
